Microsoft has unveiled the optimal PC specifications for aspiring pilots eager to take to the skies in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which is set to launch in November. Thanks to cloud data streaming, the game’s install size is now a modest 30GB. However, to achieve the “ideal” gaming experience, Microsoft suggests a hefty 64GB of RAM, 12GB of VRAM, an RTX 4080 graphics card, an Intel 14700K processor, and a 100mbps internet connection.
The minimum requirements are more accessible, calling for a 10mbps internet connection and 16GB of RAM. Regardless of specs, all versions will need DirectX 12 and 50GB of available storage.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 promises an immersive experience, allowing players to not only pilot aircraft but also exit the cockpit to explore the environment. This new iteration includes glider airports, oil rigs, lighthouses, and even simulations of “every ship on Earth,” alongside hundreds of species of animals. It’s shaping up to be a groundbreaking game in terms of scale and complexity, according to Microsoft Flight Simulator head Jorge Neumann.
The game is set to launch on November 19, 2024, for both PC and Xbox Series X/S.
