Telltale Games has reassured fans that The Wolf Among Us 2 remains in development, following rumors of its potential cancellation. A recent Reddit post by a whistleblower had claimed that financial difficulties and internal pressure were threatening the game’s future. While the original post has since been removed, Telltale addressed the speculation directly.
“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors and unsubstantiated Reddit threads. But development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues, and we’re excited to share more with Telltale fans when the time is right,” a spokesperson told Eurogamer.
To calm concerns, Telltale shared new images from the game in April 2024, depicting the snowy cityscape, protagonist Bigby Wolf, and a quiet dialogue scene. Despite significant layoffs in September 2023 that impacted much of the development team, the studio maintains that the project is moving forward.
The Wolf Among Us 2, originally announced in 2017, has faced several delays and even a full restart in development. After switching to Unreal Engine 5, Telltale confirmed the game is still in progress, though no release window has been set. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC.
