This October 17, Behaviour Interactive is bringing back the highly anticipated Haunted by Daylight event for the third year in a row, adding even more thrills and chills to the world of Dead by Daylight. From spooky new cosmetics to exciting game modes and the return of Castlevania content, the event promises to deliver a haunting experience for players. Let’s break down what to expect in Haunted by Daylight 2024.
Step Into The Void: Haunted by Daylight Event
The Void Realm is back, more dangerous than ever, for this year’s Haunted by Daylight event, running from October 17 to November 7. This time, players will find even more portals to the Void Realm scattered throughout the Trials, and once opened, they cannot be closed.
Void Energy remains a central mechanic, as players must collect it to access the Void. Once inside, you can now use your Void Energy to create role-specific items that may shift the balance of power during a Trial. In a first for the event, Killers can now use their abilities inside the Void Realm, adding a whole new level of intensity to the game.
Castlevania Expands with Tome 21: DOMINUS
Building on the recent introduction of Castlevania characters into the game, Tome 21: DOMINUS delves even deeper into the franchise’s lore, with a particular focus on fan-favorite characters from the Nintendo DS titles. The Tome explores the histories of Trevor Belmont and Dracula, as both seek to sway Alucard to their cause.
For the first time, every item in Tome 21 will be inspired by Castlevania or gothic horror, including Legendary Outfits. Players can earn a Soma Cruz Outfit for Trevor Belmont, as well as the True Form Outfit for Dracula, complete with an exclusive Mori animation.
Threads of Dread: Halloween Cosmetics
Halloween wouldn’t be complete without dressing up, and Dead by Daylight has a full wardrobe ready for its characters. Starting on October 17, players can unlock new additions to the Void Collection, which show the eerie effects of surviving the Void. This year’s collection includes outfits for Kate Denson, Adam Francis, Zarina Kassir, and a chilling Killer Outfit for The Plague.
For a lighter take on the season, the Tricks and Treats Collection offers themed costumes for Sable Ward and Mikaela Reid, who appear as a spellcasting witch and her cat-like familiar, respectively. Other limited-time outfits include Yun-Jin and The Trickster, designed as if they were attending a Halloween concert, which can be earned through event challenges.
Additionally, the Hallowed Blight Collection returns on October 7 with new gruesome looks for The Pig, The Deathslinger, and more, while Alien Collection drops two new outfits on November 7, featuring the Juggernaut Xenomorph and the Pressure Suit for Ellen Ripley.
2v8 Game Mode Returns with New Content
The much-loved 2v8 game mode is making its comeback from November 12 to November 16, but this time with several upgrades based on community feedback. While the initial launch introduced a limited set of Killers and Maps, the second iteration is expanding the roster and refining the overall experience for both Killers and Survivors.
Joining the original lineup of Killers (The Trapper, The Wraith, The Hillbilly, The Nurse, and The Huntress) are The Blight, The Spirit, and The Deathslinger. New maps, including Yamaoka Estate and Grave of Glendale, will also be available for 2v8 mode, along with additional Realms that have been adapted for the larger player count.
Revamped Survivor and Killer Classes
Survivors in 2v8 mode will now have access to Active Abilities, in addition to improved Unlock Abilities. Each Survivor Class (Guide, Medic, Escapist, and Scout) now boasts two unique abilities, including perks like repairing broken pallets or reviving teammates. These abilities can recharge and be used multiple times, even allowing Survivors to pick themselves up from the Dying State.
On the Killer side, four new Killer Classes have been introduced to further customize the hunt. Players can now choose between:
- Shadow – Focuses on stealth, blocking escapes, and coordinating with the other Killer.
- Brute – Specializes in overpowering Survivors with relentless chases.
- Enforcer – Targets wounded Survivors, finishing the job with efficiency.
- Fearmonger – Utilizes map control and stealth to manipulate Survivors and assist their Killer partner.
This new class system not only enhances the current gameplay but also opens up future opportunities for additional Killers in 2v8 mode.
