Larian Studios’ Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 was initially seen as the developer’s final major update for the highly successful Dungeons & Dragons RPG, but Larian has since confirmed there’s more in store.
Patch 7, available now on PC (but delayed for consoles and Mac), introduces key features like official mod support, 13 new cinematics showcasing different outcomes for evil playthroughs, improvements to Honour Mode, new Legendary Actions, and revamped split-screen gameplay.
Although Larian has announced plans to eventually move on from Baldur’s Gate 3 and explore new projects, Patch 7 isn’t the last major update for the game.
“Good news, it’s not the final update,” Larian’s head of publishing, Michael Douse, shared on Twitter. “We’re not revealing what’s coming next to avoid pressuring the devs, but there are still things we’ve promised that are on the way.”
Looking ahead, fans can expect updates like crossplay and a photo mode, along with additional fixes. The question remains whether future patches will introduce significant changes to the story or major gameplay additions like Patch 7 did.
