Nacon has announced a delay for its upcoming open-world co-op game, Terminator: Survivors. Originally slated for an Early Access release on October 24, 2024, the game’s launch has been pushed back to an unspecified date in 2025. The decision was made to ensure that the game meets fans’ expectations and delivers the experience that players are eagerly awaiting.

The studio communicated the change via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, acknowledging that the news may be disappointing for those who were looking forward to the game this Halloween. However, Nacon expressed confidence in the delay, stating, “In the long term we believe this is the right call.”

Terminator: Survivors is set in a previously unexplored timeline within the Terminator universe, occurring after the catastrophic events of Judgement Day but before the formation of John Connor’s resistance group. The game promises a cutthroat multiplayer experience where players, along with up to three friends, must scavenge and survive in a harsh open world, fending off both human enemies and relentless Terminators. The game will feature an original storyline that introduces new characters while incorporating familiar faces from the Terminator franchise.

Nacon first announced the game in 2022, with additional details released earlier this year, building anticipation among fans. While the delay may be disappointing, the developers believe it will ultimately lead to a better and more polished gaming experience.
